In celebration of Idul Fitri, Eco Bhinneka Muhammadiyah held a social event titled “Gift Bundles of Solidarity” or called “Tali Kasih” on March 21, 2025, in Jakarta. “We aim to strengthen the bond of friendship among the employees at the PP Muhammadiyah office in Central Jakarta. By distributing these gift bundles, we can meet and reconnect with one another,” said Alifa Pratiwi, as the Coordinator of the event.

“Additionally, we want to promote an environmentally friendly lifestyle by minimizing the use of single-use plastics, including the ‘Green Idul Fitri’ campaign, so that this festive season remains joyous while also making an effort to protect the Earth,” she added.

As part of the environmental campaign, the “Tali Kasih” given to the recipients were wrapped in eco-friendly, foldable shopping bags. These bags are not only practical but can also be reused while traveling or shopping, thus reducing the need for single-use plastic.

The “Tali Kasih” were distributed to employees of PP Muhammadiyah, including staff from various councils, institutions, and members of the Himpunan Disabilitas Muhammadiyah (Muhammadiyah Disability Association). A total of 189 gift bundles were distributed as a gesture of solidarity and togetherness.

The event also received appreciation from several employees. As expressed by Ihsan, an employee of MDMC PP Jakarta Office, and Finy Auliany, an employee of TV Muhammadiyah Jakarta Office.

“Idulfitri is a moment for the entire community, not just Muslims, to participate. Daily needs increase during this time, which also leads to an increase in waste. Therefore, we need a special strategy, one of which is getting used to an environmentally friendly lifestyle during Idulfitri,” said Ihsan.

According to Finy, preserving the environment is part of preserving the Earth. “The Quran teaches us not to cause corruption on Earth. The habit of not using single-use plastics, carrying a tumbler, and engaging in daily environmental preservation activities are all good deeds,” she added.

Through this initiative, Eco Bhinneka Muhammadiyah hopes to strengthen the sense of togetherness, educate the importance of an environmentally friendly lifestyle, and encourage all Muhammadiyah members to help protect the Earth for a better future.
