Conducting In-depth Studies

In-depth studies will be conducted in four project areas to assess the conditions and challenges of freedom of religion or belief (FoRB). The studies will also identify opportunities, strengths, and strategies for program implementation.

The studies will be conducted in the following four areas:

  • Pontianak City (West Kalimantan)
  • Surakarta City (Central Java)
  • Banyuwangi Regency (East Java)
  • Ternate City (North Maluku)

Building Interfaith Communities for Environmental Conservation

JISRA Muhammadiyah will develop a series of Eco-Bhinneka guides or modules and conduct Eco-Bhinneka training and workshops involving youth, religious leaders, and women from different faiths.

It is expected that the participants of the Eco-Bhinneka training and workshops will gain knowledge and skills in designing and implementing joint actions that contribute to environmental conservation (ECO-BHINNEKA) in their respective areas.

It is also hoped that the participants will develop a better understanding of different religious perspectives and views, and the capacity to identify social problems and think critically. They will also be able to promote human rights, peace initiatives, and challenge negative stereotypes.

Enhancing the Capacity of Program Staff and Partners

Program staff and partners will participate in a series of training and workshops to enhance their capacity to achieve JISRA’s goals. The training will cover intra-religious, inter-religious, and extra-religious activities. It is expected that the participants will be able to:

  • Identify different types of capacity
  • Determine lobbying and advocacy strategies
