Eco-preneurship focuses on the development of environmentally friendly products, services, and systems that do not harm ecosystems. The innovations developed also aim to improve quality of life and are committed to minimizing negative environmental impacts. Through eco-preneurship, economic, social, and environmental values are developed to enhance the quality of life of the community.
This was stated by Triningsih, Finance and Program Coordinator of Eco Bhinneka Muhammadiyah, when presenting on the Principles of Eco-preneurship, during the online Women Eco-preneurship Assistance and Coaching event on Monday (March 24). “This effort is certainly expected to benefit the environment, such as reducing pollution, conserving natural resources, and minimizing waste,” Tri added.
The event was attended by representatives from three PCA (Branch Leadership of ‘Aisyiyah) under the Depok Local Board of ‘Aisyiyah (PDA) in West Java, who have been actively pioneering high-protein maggot farming and environmentally friendly craft creations, such as making bags from fabric scraps and processing used cooking oil.

Hening Parlan, Director of Eco Bhinneka Muhammadiyah, in her remarks emphasized the importance of building a successful model. “The coaching process becomes crucial so that an existing location can be strengthened and further developed, allowing the leaders in that location to become community leaders, able to form a group by involving the surrounding community, and remain active continuously to become a model and example,” she explained. Hening, who is also the Vice Chair of the Environmental and Disaster Management Institute (LLHPB) of the Central Board of ‘Aisyiyah, said that the success stories from one location could be expanded to other locations, making the outreach broader and serving as an example for other LLHPB ‘Aisyiyah groups.
On this occasion, participants also received material on the Strategy for Developing Environmentally Friendly Products and Services Online, presented by Fajar Firmansyah, Social Media Consultant at GreenFaith Indonesia. Fajar explained the importance of identifying the market, so that product innovations and service adjustments can meet market needs. “We also need to build a community of product enthusiasts and collaborate with other businesses to expand reach and reduce costs,” he added. According to Fajar, an environmentally friendly lifestyle is a current trend, making it an opportunity for the sustainability of environmentally friendly products and services businesses.

Furthermore, he continued, the digital era and AI offer opportunities to develop marketing for environmentally friendly products and services. “Social media content ideas that can be developed include not only content about the products and services themselves but also customer testimonials, educational facts, behind-the-scenes product/service processes, stories of entrepreneurs, and including links in Instagram bios,” he said while presenting examples of environmentally friendly product or service ideas and demonstrating the use of Chat GPT. The women of ‘Aisyiyah were also eager to ask questions and discuss the optimization of digital tools.
Additionally, participants had the chance to discuss Effective Business Practices with Azhar Nasih Ulwan. Azhar is the CEO of Nava Group, Owner of Arto Convection, Owner of Bowiling Resto, and a Member of the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Institute (UMKM) of the Muhammadiyah Regional Board in Special Region of Yogyakarta. “In business, no one is an expert, because we always have to learn,” he said. Azhar outlined the four important M’s for starting a business, “The first M is motivation with the intention for worship. The second M is having the right mindset, specifically a growth mindset. The third M is to just start, because the best ideas are those that are executed. And the fourth M is to have an experienced mentor, learning from the experts or those who are more successful,” he explained. During this session, participants actively discussed and consulted with Azhar regarding business idea development.
